About Me

Hi, I’m Max/Maxine (They/She), founder of Vibrant Minds Counselling. As a proudly neuroqueer (Autistic & LGBTQIA+) counsellor, I am passionate about supporting people through their own mental health journey and assisting individuals to embrace their authentic selves. My own experiences with mental health, disability, and identity exploration have shaped my understanding of the challenges that come with feeling different or disconnected. I know firsthand the challenges of navigating the world when your inner experiences don't align with how others perceive you.

I founded Vibrant Minds Counselling to offer the understanding, compassion, and clarity that many of us need. My approach focuses on helping individuals explore how their brains work, embrace their uniqueness, and navigate the impact this has on mental health.

I believe in working collaboratively with each client to understand their individual needs and provide tailored support. My goal is to empower you to create a life that feels true to who you are—no matter how that may differ from what the world expects.
Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
Vibrant Minds Counselling offers a range of telehealth counselling services tailored to individual needs, including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, and Somatic Therapy Techniques. Each session is personalised to address specific concerns and promote overall well-being.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Scheduling an appointment at Vibrant Minds Counselling is easy. Simply contact me via email or use the Contact page on the website to reach out and book a convenient time for your initial session. I strive to accommodate your schedule and provide prompt assistance.
What can I expect during a therapy session?
During a therapy session, you can expect a safe and confidential environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings. I will listen attentively, offer guidance, and work collaboratively with you to explore solutions and find the best way forward for you.
**Please note that counselling is not an advice session - I will not tell you how to live your life, but I will help you explore your options and make the best decision for yourself.
Do you accept Mental Health Care Plans?
I am not registered with Medicare (only psychologists and social workers can register for Medicare). Therefore, I cannot accept a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) referral from your GP or provide a Medicare rebate.
However, I keep my fees as low as possible so that it is comparable to the out-of-pocket gap you would pay to see a psychologist using a MHCP.
What is Telehealth Counselling and how does it work?
All sessions are conducted via Zanda Health, a secure and user-friendly platform specifically designed for Telehealth services. Zanda offers features that enhance the online counselling experience, such as easy access with no need to download software, and it ensures your privacy with end-to-end encryption.
Telehealth counselling allows you to access support from the comfort of your own space, making it especially beneficial for those who prefer a sensory-friendly environment or more flexibility in their schedule.
What happens if there is a technical issues?
If we experience any technical issues, don’t worry—we’ll work through it!
If a connection drops or the internet goes down, I’ll reach out to you and we can either continue the session via telephone or reschedule, depending on your preference.

Can I cancel or reschedule my session?
Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your session.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
Please get in touch directly via email if something comes up last minute.
How many sessions should I schedule?
How many sessions you need, and how often you schedule your sessions, depends on your individual needs and goals.
Some clients prefer weekly sessions, while others find fortnightly or monthly check-ins more helpful. We can work together to find a schedule that works best for you.

You are not locked into a schedule — you can always change your mind about how often you attend counselling depending on your needs.
